WE HAVE MERGED !! Congratulations to ALL!!!

The West Volusia Corporate Board met Monday morning, February 27th and voted to approve the Merger Recommendation presented by the Merger Committee. The Board add thoroughly addressed the concerns and recommendations expressed by a few of their members felt that they had enough information and were ready to vote. Their positive vote along with the positive vote from the Daytona Beach Corporate Board last month means that the two YMCAs have agreed to merge.

The combined Board's will now start Phase Three of the merger process: Implementation. To that end, the new Board will initiate the merger implementation plan. For the next 90 days , “the officers of these two YMCAs be authorized to proceed with the legal and formal process of forming this new YMCA Association” and will begin the formal CEO search process.

The Merger Committee wants to thank all those involved in the merger process these past ten months for your dedicated effort on this endeavor. You have been thorough and thoughtful. The YMCA has benefitted from your leadership. There is still work to be done as we set the structure in place to accomplish the high goals you have set for this new YMCA.
